Event organizersCyberSci is Canada's national Cyber Security Challenge for university and college students.
- Think you've got an elite team of students? Come and prove it. Our winners will go on to compete against the best in the world.
- Just starting out? This is the best way to learn and rise to the top.
- Annual in-person events since 2016. (Online during Covid.) Over 500 students so far.
Format:
- Modified jeopardy style. Realistic IT environment.
- Regional qualifiers are held in Nov-Dec each year.
- National finals are the following July.
- Winning teams represent Canada at international events in the Fall.
For Regionals (qualifiers):
We do hacking in the morning, interviews in the afternoon, and job offers by supper (for intern/summer/coop jobs).
- Full-time job offers take a few more days.
- Students register their team through their school instructor or computer club. Max 2 teams per school.
For nationals:
Participants will be the winning team from each regional/qualifier
- PLUS one all-juniors (19 and under)
- AND one all-women team (chosen from participants at regionals).
Two-day event. Online (for now).
Winners at Regionals get instant interviews and sometimes same-day job offers.
Winners at Nationals will represent Canada at international events in Fall 2021.
